Editorial policy
Open World Briefing aims to make global affairs understandable without smoothing away uncertainty. Our editorial choices favour clear explanations, careful distinctions and honest limits.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual statements against relevant, reliable material before publication and take care to distinguish established information, interpretation and uncertainty. We explain specialist language when it is needed and revise wording that could leave readers with a misleading impression.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to secure a favourable portrayal of a partner or other outside interest. A commercial relationship does not buy editorial approval, and we do not promise coverage as a condition of collaboration.
Corrections
If a reader spots a factual error or unclear passage, please contact us with the article title and the point at issue. We review correction requests and update published work when a change is warranted, making substantive corrections clear to readers.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, partner or otherwise commercially arranged material is identified clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when an illustration is AI-generated, we label it as such and do not present it as documentary evidence.
The world is connected, not abstract
We look for the structures behind global affairs and explain them in plain language, without pretending that one briefing can settle every question.
