Open World Briefing

Write for us

We welcome considered pitches that help general readers understand a lasting feature of our connected world. A strong contribution answers a specific question, defines its terms and leaves room for complexity.

What we welcome

We are interested in original explanations of international institutions, borders, shared resources, global links and the ideas used to understand them. Pieces should offer readers a distinct line of thought, not a broad survey or a lightly rewritten summary of familiar material.

A useful pitch

Send a proposed title, the central question, a short account of your approach and why the subject will remain useful beyond a news cycle. Mention any relevant experience or material you would draw on, and flag uncertainties or limits that the piece would need to address. Do not send confidential material.

How to send it

Submit proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a guarantee of publication; please wait for a response before sending a full draft.

Our point of view

The world is connected, not abstract

We look for the structures behind global affairs and explain them in plain language, without pretending that one briefing can settle every question.
